Dr. Ibrahim Akoum
holds a Ph. D. in Public Policy and Political Economy, a master's degree in public policy analysis, and a master's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the United States of America.
International experience in the field of business & economics, research, political economy, governance and training for more than 30 years, during which he worked at the World Bank in Washington, the Arab Monetary Fund, and as a consultant to international and regional organizations, including the United Nations (ESCWA), in addition to working as an economic advisor for the governments of the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
Served as a member of the United Nations Working Group (UNSCWA and UNSD) on Islamic banking and the system of national accounts, a member of a working group established in cooperation with the United Nations and the League of Arab States to develop a roadmap for internet governance in the Arab region, a member of the board of Directors of the Union of Arab statisticians, and others.
An academic lecturer in Economics in the USA and Lebanon, where he served as dean of the School of Business Administration and head of the Department of Financial Studies at Hariri Canadian University in Lebanon, where he was also the president's special adviser for Strategic Planning.
Published books and studies on Economic Development, Globalization, Governance, and political economy. Some of these studies have been published by the United Nations organization (ESCWA), the Union of Arab banks, the Center for international Private enterprise (CIPE) in Washington, the Emirates Center for Research and Strategic Studies, and international academic journals. He is also a peer reviewer for a number of international academic journals.
Dr. Zbib obtained his Masters in Managerial and Financial Accounting and Ph.D. in Management from the University of North Texas- USA in 1986 and 1991, respectively. For more than three decades, Dr. Zbib has been active in senior leadership, graduate and undergraduate teaching, executive education and training, curriculum development, academic accreditation, research and consulting in the areas of Higher Education, Human Capital Management, Leadership, Strategic Management, Operations Management, and Organizational Behavior. Professor Zbib is the author and co-author of over 50 articles and cases in journals, books, and proceedings.
Dr. Zbib currently holds the position of Founding President at Phoenicia University since 2014 and President of the American Management Center (AMC). Prior to joining PU, Dr. Zbib served as an Executive Director of Executive Education and Corporate Programs, Professor, Department Chair, Associate Vice President for Corporate Executive Programs at the American University of Beirut (AUB) from 2002 till 2014.
Prior to joining AUB, Dr. Zbib served as associate, and full tenured professor and chairman of the Management department at various universities in New York, New Jersey, Missouri, and Texas.
In addition, Dr. Zbib served as a consultant to several higher education institutions and executive corporate trainer to clients such as the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (KSA), Saudi Telecom (KSA), ZAIN (Kuwait), National Commercial Bank (KSA), National Bank of Kuwait, Bank Audi, Hikma Pharma (Jordan) , Kuwait Petroleum Company, Al Fardan (Qatar) and Aramex (UAE). Dr. Zbib is the recipients of several excellence awards in Teaching and Research from different institutions in the United States.
Solomon earned an MBA from Texas Christian University and has over 34 years of experience in management, sales and marketing; and in building successful businesses in various markets. Sol worked for 16 years in FMCG, 4 years in industrial developments, 2 years in food manufacturing and sales, and 12 years in home appliances and air conditioners.
He grew up in Africa, was educated in the US, lived and worked for 16 years in Switzerland and Spain while he traveled for work in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Then he moved to Saudi Arabia where he lived and worked for the past 18 year.
Sol worked for large multinational companies like Procter & Gamble and for large government institutions like the Saudi Industrial Development Fund in Riyadh; and for small consulting companies. He worked with American, European and Korean companies and has developed a good understanding of the Chinese market and built a strong bond with many Chinese companies. Training Focus Areas: Sales for Non-Sellers, Marketing Strategies, Effective Communication.
Since 1991, Adam has been working continuously within the field of people and team development. His skills encompass coaching, training, facilitating, career development, course development and delivery and event management. He is particularly experienced in kinesthetic learning and has been employed on a regular basis in the design and delivery of training that embeds skills through a kinesthetic process. Adam is an engaging and challenging presenter and his particular style has always veered away from straight forward power point to a more pragmatic approach.
